Tasting like chicken: It's fun again!

In keeping with the initiative of having at least 10% of "fun again" things be booze related, here's a gem: chicken flavored vodka! Apparently this is what Polish people drink (bless their hearts). Now I can't read Polish, but I'm pretty sure the small text on the label says something like "made from the juice of baby chickens". Mmmm...

Interestingly enough, this thick yellow chicken vodka tastes more like maple syrup than McNuggets. And yes, it is FUN AGAIN!

The Cat Stroller: It's Fun Again!

Now that the weather is getting nicer and the days longer, I think it's time to give those baby strollers around greenlake a run for their money. That's right - I'm talking about the cat stroller.

You furry friend will love getting a bit of fresh air, watching all the leashed dogs sniffing at it's mesh window, and being admired by passerbys. And you'll be proud as punch too!

Oh and guys... cat stroller = chick magnet!

The 1/2 & 1/2 Animal... it's fun again!

No, I'm not talking about the elusive 1/2 & 1/2 milk-producing cow (I wish!)... I'm talking about animals that are 1/2 one animal, and 1/2 another.

While I have the most appreciation for the Jackalope, having grown up with them scurrying around my back yard (or sometimes flying over - the winged variety), I definitely have respect for the Liger, Griffin, and Zonkey too.

And don't even get me started on 1/2 human 1/2 animals. That's hot!

The _____ Collection: It's fun again!

There are not many things that give you as much meaning in life as picking a random yet specific object or theme and devoting yourself to collecting as many of that thing as possible.

While I don't have any collections at the moment (shoes don't count, right?), I'm going to go ahead and highlight some favorite collections from people that I know:

• Snow globes
• Frogs
• Artsy hands
• Maps drawn by people when you ask them for directions
• Baby teeth from other people's children (ok, I don't actually know the tooth fairy, but that's the word on the street)

Collections are also fun (again) because they can generate catchy nicknames for you (e.g. "that crazy frog lady")!

5-in-1 Booze - It's FUN again!

I haven't blogged for a few days. Why, you ask? Because I recently discovered Desert Island Long Island Iced Tea Cocktail Mix, and have been passed out under a park bench since my first sip! This aptly-named beverage (the only bottle you would need to bring with you if you were stranded on a desert island) gives you 750 ml of Rum, Vodka, Gin, Tequila & Triple Sec for only $9.99 at your local Washington State Liquor Store!

I'm pretty sure it's the run-off from the booze factory, but somehow it has found the perfect balance of flavors. If your palette isn't quite distinguished enough for drinking this baby straight, I highly recommend it with Hawaiian fruit punch and a splash of grenadine.

Box of wine, move aside - there's a new park bench companion in town!

TAXIDERMY. it's fun again!

I knew that i had to come out of hiding with a bang! so I was like - "jage, what is the funnest thing you can think of that is fun again?" & i remembered one of my favorite hobbies from when i was a little girl; the ancient art of taxidermy. You may ask yourself "what is taxidermy?" and to that i say "just look at the picture above this text, dummy!" It's about taking an animal that is not alive and putting it in your favorite pose, stuffing it with newspaper (or shredded crinkle paper) and putting marbles in the eye sockets and hanging it on your wall in the den or standing in your entryway.
nuf said.

Making your house classy: It's fun again!

There are a couple of sure-fire ways to turn your house from average to classy: lion statues (best to have a pair of them on either side of a door) or marble columns.

The lion option is nice because it's both sophisticated and mildly intimidating. But I kind of prefer the marble column route because it reminds me of living in the Parthenon (which, incidentally, I once built out of noodles for a school project).

It's important that the columns aren't actually providing any structural support - that makes them seem to utilitarian. Bedrooms and bathrooms are a great place for them, or you can wow the neighbors with a column or two in your front yard!

Breakfast for Dinner: It's FUN Again!

Breakfast for dinner: it makes you feel like you still have the whole day ahead of you! What's not fun about that?


(Alternately, dinner for breakfast can be quite fun too!)

How to be fun again...

I was checking the keyword searches that result in visits to our blog yesterday on Google Analytics and found a really great one. Someone had typed in "How can I start being fun again?", and naturally www.itsfunagain.com came up!

I'm glad we could be here to help, random searcher, but I also feel kind of bad that we've never provided a quick to-do list for those trying to become fun again. So here it is... if I can help only one person, my work here is done!

How to Start Being Fun Again:

1. Always be the drunkest person in the room. Sometimes this requires starting drinking before everyone else.
2. Make sure everyone can hear the fun things you're saying... this will require talking over other people, so speak up!
3. Wear t-shirts that say funny things on them: that way you're being fun even when you're not talking.
4. Dancing is fun. Interpretive dancing is more fun. Interpretive dancing in public places with no music playing is the most fun.

I hope this is enough to get you started. For a full training on how to become fun again, you really need to keep reading all of the posts here... it's not an overnight process people!

Fake farting: it's fun again!

I won't speak for everyone here... some people actually did read the book (or at least know what book it was). But as for me, I think the best thing about book club is making farting noises with my new iFart app! Seriously, there's nothing funnier than staging a "brown mosquito" behind someone in the midst of a plot summary! Or interrupting a heated debate with a "dirty raoul".

But don't take my word for it. Here's an enlightening report on the Today Show about iFart... yet more proof that I could totally be a talk show host!

Really - would everyone please join me in giving a gigantic shout-out to the best show that was ever made?! PEE WEE could have been the single most influential person in my early childhood (besides my mom, dad, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, 27 cousins, 59 uncles, 35 aunts, 3 best friends and my 2 cats: Misty and Tigger 1 - sorry Tigger 2...no cat could ever quite replace Tigger 1).



Let's get back on topic. I quite liked the concept of the "word of the day" that was featured on every episode of PEE WEE's Playhouse (each Saturday @ 9:00 a.m. 20 years ago...Fuck i'm old)



I would like to propose a "word of the day" for today - since it's 10:50 pm right now - let's go ahead and say that this word will be the official "word of the day" until 10:50 (give or take a few minutes) on Tuesday.



Every time you hear the "word of the day" between now and then - you must YELL at the top of your lungs...that's the rule.



The word is: SQUIRT

The Chain E-mail... It's Fun Again!

We all have those special people in our lives that fill our inboxes with forwarded chain e-mails (bless their hearts). The chain e-mail can take many different forms, but I think they all share a basic formula:

The Story:
It may be a warning, a plea for help, a heart-warming experience (often influenced by god or angels), or a way to make a lot of $ fast.

The Call to Action:
You need to forward this e-mail to as many people as possible. This is really the only way to get the word out, let others be moved the way you just were, or rake in all the money you've been promised.

The Ultimatum:
You're either going to get everything you ever dreamed of for forwarding this e-mail, or be severely punished if you don't.

I only bring this up because if you tell 22 people about www.itsfunagain.com in the next week, we will grant you 3 wishes. I can't be held responsible for what will happen if you don't :)

The fanny pack: it's fun again!

Talk about form & function! I'm sorry, but if leg warmers and blue eyeshadow are going to come back as "retro", why can't we bring this purse/belt/fashion accessory back too??

The fanny pack is great because:

1. You can easily access all of your essentials (like lip gloss and bubble gum)
2. It's secure from purse snatchers
3. It looks really, really cool

Now I know someone is taking the valuable advice that I offer up here, because I found my phone button taped down the other day :) So please, take this advice and BRING THE FANNY PACK BACK!

Selling Out: It's Fun Again!

It is with mixed emotions that I announce to you that we have decided to sell ItsFunAgain.com to Disney for $3.2M. We're really happy to be getting so much for it (we finally have enough money to pursue our dream of being dressed-up twin entertainers for children's parties) but we do feel a little bad for the selling out part.

But we won't be gone altogether. Disney is buying our blog to turn it into a Hannah Montana spin-off, and they want to keep us on as writers (I mean, what is really so different between us and a 13 year old Disney star... other than that we have real jobs!)

So please, keep reading our/Disney's blog... and pass on the good news to all the pre-teens in the family!

The office prank: it's fun again.

I was just reminded of my love for a good, clean office prank (or revenge there of... watch your back Hernan!). Nothing spices up the work day, and instills a sense of anger and paranoia in your coworkers, like a well-executed office prank!

You really need to work with your resources and know your audience, but here are a few ideas to get the creative juices flowing:

• Filling/covering a person's office/cubicle with [fill in the blank with your favorite material]
• Rendering a person's computer or phone useless through the use of clear tape (e.g. taping bottom of mouse or hang-up button on phone)
• Replacing person's computer and monitor with similar-shaped objects (e.g. microwave and toaster)
• Sending "private" e-mails from a person's unlocked computer
• And of course the old classic "acid in the water cooler" trick ;)
  

The wacky handshake... it's fun again!

I learned a lot in LA this weekend. For example, I was taught the Farmer Handshake... and now I want to impart this knowledge to you!

You have your friend interlock their fingers, palms pointing away, thumbs pointing down. And then... you "milk" their thumbs, as though they were udders! It's genius in it's simplicity. See, not having grown up on a farm, I didn't even know that's how farmers shake hands... it's udderly fun! (sorry)
