The office prank: it's fun again.

I was just reminded of my love for a good, clean office prank (or revenge there of... watch your back Hernan!). Nothing spices up the work day, and instills a sense of anger and paranoia in your coworkers, like a well-executed office prank!

You really need to work with your resources and know your audience, but here are a few ideas to get the creative juices flowing:

• Filling/covering a person's office/cubicle with [fill in the blank with your favorite material]
• Rendering a person's computer or phone useless through the use of clear tape (e.g. taping bottom of mouse or hang-up button on phone)
• Replacing person's computer and monitor with similar-shaped objects (e.g. microwave and toaster)
• Sending "private" e-mails from a person's unlocked computer
• And of course the old classic "acid in the water cooler" trick ;)
  

The wacky handshake... it's fun again!

I learned a lot in LA this weekend. For example, I was taught the Farmer Handshake... and now I want to impart this knowledge to you!

You have your friend interlock their fingers, palms pointing away, thumbs pointing down. And then... you "milk" their thumbs, as though they were udders! It's genius in it's simplicity. See, not having grown up on a farm, I didn't even know that's how farmers shake hands... it's udderly fun! (sorry)

The "random" use of quotation marks... it's "fun" again!

When you put quotation marks "around" a word, it can imply that the word is not meant to be "taken" literally. This can be really fun to do at random, because it keeps people "guessing" about what you're really trying to say.

There are a two ways to get this "effect": through writing (like my favorite sign from the late great Sunset Bowl), or by "using" your fingers to signify quotation marks when talking.

So go ahead... put "something" in quotes. If you know what I mean...

the "tighty whitey" - it's fun again!

Remember when underwear for men used to be SO simple?! There was the one tried and true favorite "tighty whitey". THEN over the last 10-15 years, underwear manufacturers and fashionistas decided - let's make men's underwear black and make 'em a little longer - 'cause then guys can look like they're ready for a night out on the town when they strip down to their skivvies...

That's cool & all, but I'd like to give a little shout out to my old friend the "tighty whitey"! Let me emphasize the word "white". These really lose their attraction when they start to become more of an "off-white"....

Neutralizing an Insult: It's fun again!

Here's a little secret for you, dear It's Fun Again readers: it's perfectly acceptable to insult anyone behind their back, as long as you follow whatever you're saying with "bless his/her heart". It shows that you really are fond of that person, and so you are in an appropriate position to constructively criticize them.

For example... "Sally is such a dirty little whore (bless her heart!)". Or "Shelton is just a twinkle-toed cock-sucker (bless his heart)". See, you can tell that I actually really care about Sally and Shelton, which is why I bring up these slight character flaws.

Now you try it!

Letting everyone know how you're feeling through your jewelry: It's fun/stylish again!

I'm a complex girl, with lots of moods... such as "calm", "nervous", "lovable" (yup, that's a mood), and "very happy". But I don't always have the time to let everyone know what mood I happen to be feeling at the moment. That's where the mood ring comes in!

Without having to utter a word, I can tell my coworkers that I'm feeling "fear" during this meeting. Or tell the grocery store bagger that I'm currently feeling "passion". Or maybe just let the bus driver know that I'm "cool".

There are of course other fun options for sharing your mood too... like mood t-shirts. But if you want to avoid big under-arm color changes, I highly recommend the mood ring for being fashionable and sharing your feelings!

CANADA - it's fun (and delicious) again!

Oh, Canada! Why do you produce the most tasty snacks ever? And why have we, your culinarily inferior neighbors, not caught up with your genius snacking options?

I've compiled a list of a few favorites that so far I've only found in Canada:

• Muchies: Frito Lay swept their factory floor into a perfectly balanced bag of cheetos, pretzels, doritos and sun chips!
• Poutine: Mashed potoatos topped with french fries topped with cheese curds topped with gravy. 'Nuf said.
• Candy: They put the "can" into candy! I always find some gems up there, like this "Mr. 2 Big" bar that's been in my junk drawer for about a year now... just can't bring myself to eat it!
• Moose cock

Using your phone for... stimulation? It's fun again!

So I was browsing through the iPhone app store today, and guess what the 36th most popular app in the Lifestyle category is? Give up? It's a ground-breaking little app called "iTouchMe". What does it do, you ask? Well, it uses your iPhone's vibrate function for, um, "stimulating vibrator massage". Wow... just when you thought everything had already been invented!

According to the app description, "The iPhone is light weight and is already ergonomically designed so you can stimulate any areas with ease". One satisfied reviewer tells us "Forget F Street ladies!!! This is all ya need now! Thank god for the iPhone!!" Gosh, quite the endorsement!

Just remember to sanitize your phone before taking that next call...

SPARKS! It's fun again!

I first discovered Sparks through my highly-cultured friend Kathi. It's an alcoholic energy drink that makes snowboarding more fun. You drink a nice tall, ice-cold can of it to start your day out, and you're on the top of your game!

Interesting fact: I was just doing a tiny bit of Sparks research (yeah, I take this whole blogging thing pretty seriously) and discovered that, while the original Sparks ingredients included 6% alcohol, caffiene, taurine, ginseng and guarana (and something cool that makes it bright orange!), the caffeine part is being taken out of the recipe due to a ruling this past December in the name of "public health". Hello... what about mental health, people??

This change might not have taken place yet (the Spark's FAQ page hasn't been updated with this missing, crucial ingredient), so I highly encourage all of you to go out and fill your garages with enough caffeinated Sparks to keep it FUN AGAIN for many snowboarding seasons to come!

The Wet-Nap. It's fun again!

I bet you were thinking about the other wet-nap (which is fun too) but what I'm talking about here is the ever-so-fun small moist towelette that comes in a package that you can put in your pocket or purse for those incredibly embarrassing moments when you spill or, dare I say, have an accident(?) on the plane! These little buggers could save your life some day! Go grab a 12 pack & don't leave home without 'em...

*Caution: Keep an eye out for the impostor brands. Make sure the package says "THE ORIGINAL" it should be teal with 4 rectangles below the words and then it will say "wet-nap" and then below that in all caps it will say "MOIST TOWELETTE". It almost seems like one word, doesn't it?

The Dolphin. It's fun again!

So you've all seen this pink "albino" dolphin that's been all over the news lately I'm sure. Pretty freaky. Anyways, that got me thinking about how much I love the dolphin! Not in some kind of hippie "save the dolphins" way... I'm talking about THE dolphin!

Have you heard the dolphin joke? I'm afraid I can't tell it here because the punchline is a sound, and I can't figure out how to type it out (plus my mom could be reading this!)... ask me later :)

Tuna Noodle Casserole... it's fun again!!

First you take a tuna noodle casserole. Then you roll it up into a burrito supreme. Then you wrap that in a pancake and deep-fry it. Then you smother that in jam (or jelly). And then you put BBQ potato chips on top.
And... IT'S FUN AGAIN!!!

I hate to take this to a serious topic in the midst of all the fun and games that has so far been the general tone of "it's fun again.com" but i think this was inevitable. There are days in each of our lives when we all could use a hug or just a pat on the shoulder that says "hey, it's gonna be o.k.". For those of you who don't know about these beautifully written books - i strongly recommend you hit the local Barnes & Noble and checking these out. There are probably sixty five different versions of the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books and there is definitely one that will soothe YOUR soul - from the "Pet Lover" to the "Canadian" to my personal favorite "the "American Idol" (i am not making this sh** up!!)

If my post today can change someones life for the better, then I have done my job.

(i am in the midst of sending the Chicken Soup for the Soul corporation a suggestion for a new book - "Chicken Soup for the Bloggers Soul" I am a tad bit disappointed/saddened that this isn't there for me when I need it)

Pooping in plants... it's fun (for cats) again!

I am obsessed with SkyMall magazine... you know, the shopping magazine you find on planes. There are some of the most amazing products in there. Pure genius. In fact, I think if I were to dig deeply into my past, SkyMall might be the reason I went into engineering to begin with... the dream of someday inventing a product as life-changing as some of the ones in there.

While it's near-impossible for me to pick my favorite SkyMall offering, I think I'll have to pay tribute to the plant litter box here. It just makes so much sense: on the surface it may appear to be just a lovely house plant for your living room. But wait... is that a cat I see pooping inside of it? Yes! It's also a litter box!

For only $129 (or $249 for two... maybe one for the dining room too?) this incredible, marble-finished combination of pooping and horticulture could be yours!

Thinking celebrities are just like us... it's fun again!

There are so many reasons that I love Us Magazine, not the least of which being that it makes me feel good about myself. Why, you ask? Because it reminds me that, for all intents and purposes, I'm pretty much a celebrity. After all, they're just like us!

Some of my favorite examples of me being really similar to a celebrity are:

We're currently ranking at #112 for "it's fun again" in google (and interestingly enough, google analytics tells us we've gotten 3 visits from the keyword "headgear", although I can't even find us ranking for it at all). Anyways... we want people to find our blog, and our current search engine rankings are dismal.

So... I'm excited to announce that we here at It's Fun Again are naming a new SEO play! Code named "Snakes on a Plane 2", our goal is to rank in the top 10 google results for "it's fun again". Lofty, yes. But doable, I think so... with your help!

Using a "SLASH" to describe stuff - it's fun again!

You might wonder/ask yourself - "why is using a slash SO fun?" Well have you even ever tried/experimented with it? The reason i like/love using slashes - is cuz like you can 'splain yourself in like two/three/four different ways in like one easy payment - I mean sentence!

Last night over snacks/Prosecco/girl talk and The Bachelor Finale viewing (OMG!) - a really awesome "slash" example came up...maybe i'll save it for tomorrow/Thursday - just to keep you reading/laughing.

TP'ing Houses. It's fun again!

I have to admit, this is my first claim to something being fun again that I've never actually done. But... I really WANT to TP someone's house! Here's the problem though: I don't currently harbor enough resentment towards anyone to put them through the (I would imagine) excruciating task of picking bits of TP out of their landscaping for months to come.

So that's where you come in, dear IFA readers... I'm officially auctioning off my and Jage's services to TP someone's house for you! Did someone make fun of your mom? Or eat your last twinkie?
